Anyone else fed up of Avatar yet?

It's by James Cameron for a start, who is well past his prime. And the over indulgence in advertising is a complete switch off from me.

The only thing I'm sick of is people slagging off a film they haven't seen yet. OK, it may turn out to be shite (though I doubt it) or it just simply may not appeal to you, in which case that's your problem, you'll just have to get over it. But folks, come on, just keep telling yourself, it's only a movie.

James Cameron + sci fi = win

I've not been exposed to all the hype as much as others but I'm looking forward to it. It may be a wank for the eyes but it could also change the way movies are made... most of the technology for it was made from scratch and they had create names for the processes.

It won't change the way films are made because only Cameron has that amount of money to play with (and this could well be the last time he has!). Titanic making over $1 billion gave him a free pass. So he could spend hundreRAB of millions and 3 years developing this project, a luxury no-one else has, aside from maybe Peter Jackson, and when he had that freedom with King Kong IMO he blew it. It was way too overblown. Return of the King was.

All the hype for a same old same old story and a load of CGI cutscenes. Many people just aren't enthused. We've all experienced Pocahontas, Fern Gully, Last of the Mohicans, Dances With Wolves etc. all similar stories, white man comes to take 'savages' who are spiritual people not deserving to have their land taken from them/destroyed. It's an age-old tale being retold AGAIN for the millionth time, except this time it's not native American Indians it's blue cat-like aliens from Alpha Centauri in a version of our future.

Actually it will. Other film makers have shown interest in the new technology that was created for this film. Since the tech now exists it won't cost as much as Avatar to make a similar film as they don't have to do all the R&D to create it first.

Agreed, apart from a couple that I thought was a bit cheesy (though necessary for romantic story I'm sure) I think Titanic is a great film, not seen it in 10 years, but I must see it again soon.

Yeah, it really is bad. I can't stand Leona Lewis at the best of times, she just sounRAB like she's "yodelling" and attempting to pass it off as vocal talent. I hope the song doesn't play until the very end of the credits...when i've left the theatre.

It is suppose to look a lot better when you see the film how it is suppose to be seen, in the new 3D form they have created. You don't really get the feel from the trailers and clips that are not in the format they are suppose to be seen. I think the creatures are rather good. Far from awful.

No... I don't let things like this get to me, I don't waste my time moaning, it's advertising, easy to ignore if you want to.

I like the trailer, so not bothered how many times I see it on the television/cinema screen. :)

I don't think I have seen the trailer any more or less than the trailers for any other new releases.... in fact I am more bored of being reminded of the fact that the last Harry Potter movie is now available on DVD!
So far as Avatar goes, I am quite intrigued by it, and looking forward to seeing the movie :)
