I have a major surgery coming up the first of July. I have a scoliosis problem brought on by a back surgery that was done in 2006. It was a double fusion on my lower back. And now everything collapsed so bad that it is a considered scoliosis. So they are going to have to go in and fuse all my discs clear up to my shoulder blades. I have been on pain meRAB.(narcotics)for yrs. Anyone had this issue before surgery thus having a problem with pain management after surgery? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks from babyboomer6
I'm so sorry your suffering so much! I reraber what that was likecand trying to find a medication that works is yet another story. I can't tell you how many medications I went through and found put the hard way that I was allergic to four of them!!!! I'v been on opiats as well prio to my surgery and after for a total of four years but I did stop taking it for almost three months while another doctor placed me on another protocol after a recent surgery. I scare my doctors because I'll stop taking meRAB if I feel my body is getting used to it like I did with Vicodin.I was taking up to six a day because of a whiplash so I stopped taking to clean out my system so I can restart the Vicodin again and it would work great again but my doctor hated when I did this worrying about withdrawels but i'v been blessed as Mother had been to
be born without the drug addiction gene for she also has been through so much in her lifetime but never complained even to the day she was dying but I once counted her meRAB and she had fifteen! :-(.
Have you tried alturnative medicine like accupuncture or the tens unit? For sure they're not cures only pain management if your insurance covers any of them.
