The way I see it, both parties are for breaking our addiction to foreign oil. But the republicans are the only ones who have it right. Drilling to access our own oil is clearly the short-term solution. "But we won't see that oil for 7 years!" 7 years IS the short term. The democrats' solution is to start looking into alternative fuels...that's a good idea, but unfortunately not many of those make much sense. I think we need to drill now, and also start looking into alternative fuels, so we can break foreign oil/opec, and eventually get off oil altogether. But we sure as heck can't afford to remain on foreign oil until we find an alternative fuel that works well enough to run our country's transportation on. Thoughts?
