Anyone agree with my rant on foreign oil?

The way I see it, both parties are for breaking our addiction to foreign oil. But the republicans are the only ones who have it right. Drilling to access our own oil is clearly the short-term solution. "But we won't see that oil for 7 years!" 7 years IS the short term. The democrats' solution is to start looking into alternative fuels...that's a good idea, but unfortunately not many of those make much sense. I think we need to drill now, and also start looking into alternative fuels, so we can break foreign oil/opec, and eventually get off oil altogether. But we sure as heck can't afford to remain on foreign oil until we find an alternative fuel that works well enough to run our country's transportation on. Thoughts?
 
the dems agree,they just don't want to break their ties to their far-lefty bothers and sisters and the hollywood hip liberal elitist crowd.after all they want to be kool too.
 
Oil in non-renewable resource. With that said, one day it is gonna run out! But who is gonna bite the bullet and start sinking money into alternative fuels. As it stands, everyone is so greedy to make money right now, as we see with record profits every quarter from "big oil" that no one cares what happens 30 years from now! It is sad, but maybe one day the car companies and the energy companies together will figure out what we can do to enact alternative fuels, but right now, it is all about MONEY!

Brazil has a main energy source the hydroelectric.
30 years ago began the movement of change of fuel of the automobiles; it only now had success with the invention of automobiles that they work with 3 types of different fuel.
The automobiles That are supplied with gas, was it very difficult to implant that fuel, the whole piping that drives the gas it had to be changed, because the pressure for a gas station to supply several automobiles demanded a great pressure, and would not the old piping support the increase of the pressure, Rio de Janeiro a city of the size of New York, São Paulo is a city 1/3 larger than NY, can you imagine to break the whole city to change the piping of gas? As the pressure increased all of the stoves had to suffer adaptation for not melting the components when the fire was lit. For the cars they work with the cane alcohol, it was problematic, because every time that the price of the sugar went up the producers left of manufacturing alcohol and it manufactured sugar.

The changes are not easy but they are necessary.
 
We import 70% of the oil we use and there is no way we can drill our way to energy Independence but it will help a little and if we drill every where we still import 60%. I don't think is matters much whether or not we drill and that is more of an election issue than a real one.
