Anyone agree the Big mac/salad headline is absolutely ridiculous?

Like how misleading and provocative can you get 'Big Mac healthier than salads', hmmmm..... 'but only the ones you buy that include dressings'.... OHH.
How stupid. Its so obvious, yet editors have to add a slight twist of shock and awe by making the reader think there has been a major scientific find......
If you have a two Ryvita crackers and then place a slab of lard inbetween it, obviously that to will turn unhealthy right?

I agree, there is bound to be some people that just read the headings and so now believe that they would be healthier eating bigmacs instead of salad, it is stupid to write something like that.
A plain salad is obviously much more healthier then a bigmac.

YES!!!

There are so many important nutrients in salads than a slab of processed meat, sugary bun and sugard ketcup.

Oh, the good old 'one food is worse for you after all' thing. Wonder what it will be next week?

Every food is bad in large amounts, regardless of whether it is a big mac or a carrot stick. It is all balance. And common sense.

I get more and more convinced this world is daft!

Of course it is - but it sold a few thousand newspapers. Unfortunately people have been putting around the "burgers bad, salad good" story for years and that's just as ridiculous. We need a balanced diet. Too much fat causes heart disease: too little causes brain damage.

Yes, advertisers should stop dancing with words, and start getting to the point. Half of what they say they have to cover up using the weasel words at the bottom of the screen. Ridiculous.

Yes, I agree. What do these so called specialists know any way..

Remember the Egg.... Go to work on an egg they told us......Then they said Eggs are bad for us.....Then they said it was only the yolk that was bad... They didn't tell us that the white is full of lecithin and breaks down the cholesterol in the yolk.

And now the latest report is eat as many Eggs as you like..... Ive been doing that for years and I have a least a dozen or more a week.

These so called do gooders makes me sick with what they say we should and shouldn't eat..

P.S. At least I will kick the bucket happy, eating what I want to eat..!

If you read the story you'll see it's "most salads bought in High Street stores".

Which is totally true, sure Big Macs' are unhealthy beyond belief but to an extent it's fresh ingredients, sadly the ingredients are all highly fattening and calorie loaded.

The Salads have the cheapesrt cheese/tuna/meat they can find which is full of fat and preservatives, as are the salad and dressings themselves as they have a short shelf life, where as if the preservatives are added it makes them totally unhealthy but afterall stores don't want to pay for salads that are only going to last for one day and don't sell do they?

But the headline is ridiculous, it's just encouraging our overweight society (kids especially) to say things like "but they're healthier than salads". It really is just promoting fast foods as they don't tell you the details about each and compare them.
