Check out the Moto L2 or L6.

The L6 can be seem edited from triband to quad. myworldphone.com seems to have the best price for it thus far.

Hmmm yeah, if you are looking for a phone with contract, http://wirefly.com has LOTS of really good deals. The problem is most of the carrier's deals they have on there are for new customers so if your contract is up you have to switch carriers in order to get the deal, which is a good thing if you current service sucks but it's bad if you want to keep your existing carrier or are still in a contract.

Look out for the older models that don't require you to pay any money up front, there are even a few that offer you extra money via mail-in promotions, like cingular's offer for the moto v220 where the "Price Today" is $0.00 and with the "Price after Rebates" you actually gain $75.00.

Get a Motorolo v190 from Radioshack. It's a basic phone (no camera etc) with a very good reception and a good speakerphone. It comes a go phone from Cingular and replace the SIM with your SIM. Call Cingular and tell them that you are going abroad (you must be at some point in time) and get the unlock code. I got this phone for $30 ($60 - $30 rebate). It's a great phone.

Just buy an old phone. A T720 is a good idea, but I don't think it's quad-band.

you dont have to unlock it to use it with a cingular post-pay account if its a gophone..

correct. Cingular go phone sim = cingular post-paid sim. Phone cant tell the difference because there is none.
