Heard there remaking this . Had vague memories of watching original when I was a kid and liking it. Nobody I know has ever seen it

Was on something like ITV 7 the other night. Surprised to finnd Dudley Moore really annoying for the first 10 mins. then got into it and him

Thought the only really funny bits would be from John Gielgud as the butler as I remember some of his lines.but theres plenty . Cant believe I laughed so much at Dudley Moore saying "hes taking the knife out of the cheese!" line near the end

It was OK at the time.
I just didn't particularly like Dudley Moore as an actor. Brilliant pianist and comic, just not as an actor.

I hope they don't remake this. It wasn't a classic film but it's good enough not to need a remake. It's going to take an amazing actor/comedian to get me to watch the remake and I can't think of anyone that could be that person.

Watched it the other night it was brilliant Dudley Moore was a class comedy actor but an actor can only be as good as the material he has to work with.

In this case 10/10 for all concerned:)

Arthur's a nice little movie, with a fine performances all round.John Gielgud unsurprisingly steals the show and the theme song is very well known.

The title character isn't the most likable guy around,so I feel it was quite a feat on Dudley's part to make the movie work.He wasn't the best actor around either.

The sequel isn't to bad either.

Apparently Sir John Gielgood didnt like the role because of the language involved in his part but he played a brilliant part !! not the same in the sequel despite him appearing briefly as a ghost!

Watched Arthur last Sat. It was on ITV4 and was cut to bits for the watershed. Still enjoyed it thought and watched Arther 2 on dvd straight after. Good little films.
