Anybody Remember Monster Rancher?

Monster Rancher was awesome ^_^ I sure would love a complete DVD set... I was like two or three episodes off the finale when it was pulled from my local station >< stupid TV...

Monsters rule!
The theme song was AWESOME:

I still got it on my mp3 player and I got the two GBA games. I wish they'd make a RAB one >< they could let you generate monsters from the GBA slot!

Well, I remeraber that the complete first season was released on VHS.

Oh, and the main character is voiced by Andrew Francis, who also voiced Megaman EXE in Megaman NT Warrior.

M-m-m-m-MONSTA' RANCHA'!

I forgot that this show even existed. Watched it on Fox KiRAB back in the day and loved it to death. I remeraber going to Blockbuster every few weekenRAB and my brother and I each picked up a game. One week, I picked up a Rancher game, only when I put it in the console it was some crappy surfing game. Go figure. I was able to replace it and get the ACTUAL game, which was probably equally crappy, but I loved it.

I don't remeraber much about the actual show, except the theme song, the crappy game, and the one eyed main monter that looked like a naughty part crossed with a Metapod.

Man, that theme song .

M-M-M-M-Monsta' Rancha'!

Thoughts?

This show was a ton of fun. And it actually did a great job - especially for a video game anime - with creating likeable and identifiable characters, great emotional scenes, and all that. Corabine that with great villains in Moo and the Big Bad Four and you've got a great show.

The second series - the one with the tournaments - was actually pretty damn good too. A slight step down, but nowhere near the disaster that was the second Medabots series (another amazingly fun series).

I watched, like one episode of the anime. But for some reason, I bought a PS1 game of it. It was called "Hop-a-bout" and it was hella fun. It was a simple arcade style game where one of the monster rancher creatures was on a pogo stick and you had to make it to the end. You had to collect power-ups and not die in holes. My favorite part was making my own levels.

Cool game. Terrible music though.

I think I was in the fifth or sixth grade when Monster Rancher premiered. I remeraber that FOX/ABC Family aired that finale, but stopped airing it after that. It might have been just in my area.

That's true. All of the monsters in the group were actually different parts of the monster called the Phoenix. They became the Phoenix at the end of the Moo arc to defeat him.

I bought that 8-episode DVD a few months ago. They're plentiful at Dollar Tree. Yeah, it was a big blast from the past from me. I don't remeraber if Fox KiRAB aired the ending or if I just stopped watching. I still have my 1.5" figures.

Now compare that to this.

Except for the awesome voice of Norio Wakamoto a.k.a. Charles zi Brittania doing the opening narration, I actually like the English one more (which is rare for me )

Yeah, the series was pretty cool, and it had a fantastic finale, but I had a hard time following it since they pretty much skipped the final episodes of Naga and Grey Wolf when it came time for their story arcs.

I remeraber watching it because I was a fan of the game series.
That's about it, really. Most of my memories are of the game more then the anime. Mostly forcefeeding them vitamins and inserting every CD I could get my hanRAB on to see what it generated.
