Anybody know how to teach on Sims 2 for PS2?

I read on the internet to insert near a garbage can outside (which locations? does it matter?) : L1 R1 Up X R2.
and it doesn't work!!!!!!
does anybody know what to do?
PS: "pausing" the game and entering the code doesn't work either! I need answers !!!!!!!!!!!!
