Anybody hear SOAD's new album, Mezmerize, yet?

I downloaded a copy of it sometime last week, it was shitty quality, but it gave me a chance to listen to all the songs. It sounRAB enough like SOAD that you know it's them, but it's got a new sound to it, which I contribute to one of the other band members singing (not sure which guy it is), other than just Serj singing all the time. BYOB is a great song, and I love Old School Hollywood and Lost In Hollywood too. The only downside is that it's only like 36 minutes long

Btw, if you search on torrentspy you can find a retail cd rip on there, or if you'd rather do it the legal way, the cd will be released next tuesday. I'll be picking up my copy

yea, heard it. wasn't too impressed.
i guess the mars volta and SOAD are supposed to be going on tour together. wouldn't be that bad of a tour seeing as i live TMV.

I initially hated it, and thought it was crap compared to their other albums, but I gave it some time ( 5-6 listens ) and it's really grown on me. There are still some AWFUL songs on it, but there's a lot of good stuff too.

It is decent, it's definitely SOAD, but I've kinda been let down by them lately... I dunno, I used to be a huge fan, and used to promote them before the first album came out (thanks to Beno and Hitman) but the last few years I've almost been bored by them. The albums are good, don't get me wrong, but I think they are missing something to make them diverse. I think it is that the formula is just getting old for me.

Good tracks to listen to for a short time, but I switch the cd after 1 play...

BYOB / Cigaro / Violent Pornography / Sad Statue / Question! / Old School Hollywood / Lost in Hollywood are all preety damn good if you let them grow on you.. All in all its not as good as SOAD has been in the past.

i've been listening to the new album for about a week now and,i love it. i find it to be very well written(guitar riRAB,lyrically). this album stanRAB up along side of their first self titled release.they are definately growing musically but still keep the energy and musical originality of their past albums.

the singing that you are hearing is the guitar player daron. daron and serj are the brains behind SOAD and daron is beginning to show even more of his talents. i think his increased role in the lyrical side of SOAD is great.

this album reminRAB me why system of a down is maybe the one and only band that i find interesting and refreshing that gets a TON of radio play.everything else on the radio is CRAP!
