I have had 3 level fusion . I am 6 months out and still dealing with pain . I have drop foot and my foot is still at a -4 degres down. Dr. Still has not said anything about driving. I am just nervous about hurting my back. Just to give a little history i did power line const. For 17 years. I got off percoset few months a go and got on do.rtvocet. Now started pt. And pain has started back been in pt for 8 weeks. Can not get the drs. Nurse to give me something better for the pain any help would help. Thanks :(

You could ask to be referred for pain management with a pain management physician. Have you had an FCE and have they created a work hardening plan (I see that was the title or your post but don't see any related question).

just wondering about what kind of stuff you would have to lift, and do. i have ahard time jut squitting down without holding on to something and that is not all the way down. i guess i just afraid of hurting my back. thanks

With the FCE they want to understand what you can do. They'll also look at what you can not do by putting you through some activity simulations (in most cases). The best thing you can do is make sure to talk with them upon arrival and explain succinctly and objectively what symptoms you have, what aggravates it, what makes it feel better/worse. A good FCE won't push you beyond pain but may see if they can alter your posture or stance and get a better outcome.

I am trying to get my PT to do an FCE of sorts so my disability carrier can really understand what I can't do (not on WC as not work related). However FCE are specialized evaluations so m PT isn't able to do all that I would like.

If you have any more questions let me know. I will be gone this weekend and much of next week but will try to help you in any way I can to understand the process, etc.
