Anybody else really excited about 'The Princess and the Frog'?

ok Im going to go against the crowd here and admit I didnt think much of it.

I was bored for a lot of it and found it bordering on uncomfortable with the cultural stereotypes

I loved the princess dresses though *sigh*

It was amazing. I loved every minute. It was beautiful, especially the ending. I'm hopefully going to see it again this week. My favourite character was Prince Naveen followed by Ray :)

Finding Nemo, Cars and The Incredibles are Disney Pixar. Not just a Disney studio animation like Bolt etc.

Planet 51 was neither, I believe.

Just got back from seeing it and thought it was great. I wasn't bored once, the animation was beautiful and all the characters were very entertaining, especially Prince Naveen and Louis the alligator. Loved Tiana aswell, great Disney heroine. Disney have done it again IMO. :D

Was sad when ray died though. The little girl sitting next to me started sobbing and had to be comforted by her dad, bless her.

how old were the children you were with?

I went with a group of 4 and 5 year olRAB and only one was engaged ....lots of wee breaks, moving about etc

just wondering if they were too young

It was just me and my sister that went to see it, but being half-term there were alot of young children there. I thought we'd have a problem with loaRAB of screaming, hyperactive kiRAB but luckily most of them were glued to the screen.

I'm 16 years old and when I went me and my friend were surrounded by little girls and their parents. I went today, the 2nd time this week, I love it! Ray and Mama Odie are my favourites :)

saw this last night and i liked it alot
must admit i was nearly in tears when ray died and went to evangeline
also louis really reminded me of baloo the bear from jungle book

i think this is probably better for slightly older kiRAB. the little ones when i was there didnt seem that interested alot of the time and a few of them found the vodoo stuff scary

i didnt think the ethnic thing mattered at all. especially as it is quite representative of new orleans as far as i am aware.

I saw the film today and quite enjoyed it :) Some neat references to other Disney classics (one scene recalls the end of Sleeping Beauty), and I loved Randy Newman's jazz/blues songs, however most of the time I couldnt understand what was being said as some people in our group just couldnt control themselves  This spoilt my enjoyment :(

I didnt spot all those references but the waltz seemed like Sleeping Beauty, also Louis seemed a bit like King Louie or Baloo from The Jungle Book IMO.

I wanted to give it at least 3/5 (maybe 3.5) but my rating was 2/5 because of the audience :(
I thought the "Wishing on a Star" part was like Pinocchio.

I went to see it today and thought it was fairly good.

Not in the same league as Beauty and the Beast or The Lion King, but I have high hopes for another Disney Renaissance based on this film's apparent success. :)

I took my 4 year old niece to see it at the weekend and neither of us were impressed to be honest, she lost interest about halfway through and I was just totally bored - I normally love kiRAB films and am a big Disney fan, but this just bored me to tears!
