Anybody else really excited about 'The Princess and the Frog'?

Apparently old school Disney is back with 2-D animation.

It gets released Febuary 5th, 2010 over here!

I really don't care if I'm an adult. I adore Disney movies and Aladdin remains one of my favourite films ever. :o

It's recieved some pretty good reviews which I'm glad to hear and I've just heard a few of the songs on Youtube and they are quite catchy and classic Disney.

Anybody else excited? :D

I'm very excited to see this and I'm 27

I'm so glad that Disney decided to go back to it 2-D route and we also have another one on the way which is called Rapunzel which has a 2010 release around november time and this will be a animation/musical

and this link has the production stills that clearly shows it's in 2-D Rapunzel Production Still

Btw The Princess and the Frog is excellent! You can so tell it's the same directors as The Little Mermaid and Aladdin as it's similar in many way but also harks back to older classics like The Aristocats and Jungle Book IMO. Some of the songs are like right out of those older films, especially the one they all sing in the swamp, it's like Baloo the bear's back!

All the characters and voices are great, not to mention the gorgeous art which they've obviously put plenty of work into. Prince Naveen (the frog prince) is a genuinely funny character, mainly due to the guy's voice, whoever he is. I absolutely hate some OTT 'comedy' voice acting performances, but they got it right here. Pretty much everything is right about the whole film! I don't want to spoil it but there are even some really sad parts that IMO make it so much better than most of Disney's recent output (not including Pixar, who are always so brilliant at this). I hope they never let things slide again as far as character depth goes. Not that anyone cares...they'll just go and watch the stupid Chipmunks sequel or whatever.

^Couldn't agree with you more.

Fantastic film, it picks up the Hand Drawn baton where Tarzan left off. Great characters, and Facilier is the best villain this side of Judge Claude Frollo.

Visually amazing and the music is fantastic. I also loved the little Disney "Easter eggs" scattered around.
Carpet from Aladdin, Firehouse Five + Lou, the parade floats based on other films, the reference to Mad Madam Mimm, Sleeping Beauty-esque waltz etc.

I'd give it 5/5.

I thought it was brilliant, one of the best children's films I've seen in years (I never include Pixar in this :p). I actually felt 10 years old watching it again!

Tiana was a great leading lady, very determined and ambitious which was nice to see. She is very different from other Disney heroines.

Prince Naveen was hilarious. Once again an unusual prince for Disney who was...quite a slag. :o

Louis and Ray were brilliant too, as was Charlotte and Madam Odie.
So sad to see Ray die and I was quite upset when Louis found him :o , but at least he got to be with his Evangeline  (liked the 'Peter Pan' stars aswell)

But my favourite character was Dr. Facilier and his shadow army. A decent villian who I personally think is up there with some of the best. Creepy guy and the voice actor was awesome!

Overall, loved it. Great storyline, great characters and great songs. :D

Welcome back Disney!

Saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it :) 4/5. I think if you're going to watch it with the expectations of 'The fab 4' (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin & The Lion King) you may be a little disspointed but it's certainly for me the best since Pocahontas.

It's interesting everyone is welcoming back disney animation, even though it looks as if disney have just shelved the next big traditionally animinated project The Snow Queen!

Saw it today with my 3 year old daughter, loved it - loved the fact that Tiana had ambition and didn't just want to marry a prince.

Louis was great and so was Ray.

Don't mind admitting I had a huge lump in my throat at the end!!

Its been shelved twice before so I'm not entirely surprised.

But don't worry, I think PatF is the start of something new (hmm there's a song there..;) ) and certainly won't be the end.
