Hi there. Just wandering if there is anybody else out there dealing with SI joint dysfunction. I fell and hit my hip about a month ago and have been suffering ever since. It started with severe pain in my left lower back shooting to my groin and down my leg. I went to see a pain specialist and he injected my left SI joint. Worked great, but then the right side started doing the same thing. He injected my right SI joint, and it didn't work very well :( Now, two weeks after the left joint was injected, I'm starting to get the shooting pain again on that side. I feel like every time I start to feel a little better, I move wrong and start over with the pain again. Does anybody have any suggestions for improving this condition? I'm meeting with my pain specialist on monday and I've been seeing a chiropractor regularly. I'm 26 years old and I feel like I'm an old lady:(

I ended up with bilateral SI joint dysfunction after having surgery (a hysterectomy) and the positioning on the operating table damaged my SI joint. Following the SI joint injecions I have had some longer-lasting relief with radio-frequency nerve ablation of these nerves. The pain relief lasts anywhere from 6-18 months and then it neeRAB to be repeated. Most pain-management centers offer this procedure. I have found no permanent solution, however, and am still searching. I do take medication for nerve pain daily as well. This can be a tough problem to treat. Many people speak highly of physical therapy but this is not working wonders for me at the moment. Best of luck to you!
