Any way to make your dad let you get a sports car?

He claims the insurance will go crazy high if i get a sports car.
I really want one im 17 and about to be a senior
i saved up a good amount of money to get a sports car
but is there any way to convince him to pay for the insurance
because if i try to pay for it myself it will be some crazy high price.
 
Simply call and get quotes from insurance agencies on the type of car.
I know that when I was 17 I head friends who had muscle cars and preludes and cars like that and they were able to afford the insurance just fine.
