Any way to change folder icon. And Mp3 shortcut?

I knew you could make folder but just recently discovered how usefull they are. So my question is, is there a way to change the folder icon? Even changing it's color would be good.


Also is there a way to make a shortcut to a file on the SD card? Like a short cut to an mp3 file that will launch and play the mp3? Or like a shortcut to a video file etc?

Yes you can change folder icons. You need root though. The icons are in launcher.apk, just open the fold .png files in photoshop or whatever to edit them

Use astro to link to specific files like mp3s, pictures, whatever

Oh, but that would change the look of every folder, so they would all still look the same as eachother.

Unfortunately, there's only 2 folder icons. Open and closed. So you can really make a different folder for let's say music with a music note on in and a video folder with a video reel on it. Once the widgets portion is open to dev, you may see more options

The "File Jump" app on the market provides the shortcut to file functionality directly.
