I recently bought a Playstation 3 from Japan, but I live in the United States and my Playstation 3 is region 3 for DVDs. Which of course all of the United States DVDs are region 1. So incidentally I cannot play my DVDs on it. I know you can copy a dvd and rip it on to another blank disk and it will work then but WTF. I don't want to do that. Too time consuming to do that with all my DVDs. So I was wondering if there was some sort of hack that I can do to enable it to read all regions (or even just region 1) DVDs for me. Or if there was something I can do to change out inside the PS3. Like a chip or something that I can switch out to let it read the region 1 DVDs. I've been googling this question for two days straight now and all I've found is a bunch of forums from 3 years ago asking the same question with no answer. So I figure there MUST be some sort of answer for this by now. It's been 3 or 4 years. Someone has to have invented a hack/mod/chip or a disk like the Xplode thing for the old PS2's I've read about. This is starting to piss me off, so please someone, help me out here.
Any way I can change my region 3 PS3 to a region 1 PS3? Like a hack or mod of some sort?
