Protesters are fine. As long as they educate themselves, rather than just jump on somebody else's bandwagon with somebody else's opinion. So many people that oppose the war accept theory and conjecture as truth. I find it a bit humorous when you compare the number of people who opposed the war in 2003 to the number of people who now claim to have opposed the war in 2003. There are a lot of monday morning quarterbacks running around.
Are we right to be there? In my opinion, yes. Saddam was not cooperating with inspections for chemical weapons, and those inspections were laughable at best. Saddam was allowed to choose which sites were to be inspected, with months of time to prepare those sites as he wished. A chemical weapons laboratory and its products do not have to be the size of an elephant. it can be disassembled piece by piece and taken out in many small packages. At the time of the invasion, our country had to remove all threats. Iraq was a threat.
From the Iraqi's that I have met first hand, I feel that the vast majority would have liked to see a free democratic government in place in their country. Sadly, the extremists, the small minority that are willing to kill other Iraqi's, don't want to see this.
