I'm an indian living in England, and I really want to learn hindi. I know a few words and phrases and can understand it a bit, but I want to get fluent. My parents can speak it, but in the house we usually talk in English, and the only time i'm really exposed to hindi is when we go to functions (and even then english is spoken) and when we watch indian movies (though there are usually subtitles). I can understand gujarati a bit though I can't formulate sentences well.
I'm 13, if age has anything to do with it, and i'm also learning French, German and Latin in school.
so any tips on how to learn?
Oh, and as a sidenote, is swahili hard to learn? Again, both of my parents can speak it (they grew up in Kenya), and it seems like a cool language to learn. Especially since I go to Kenya a lot to see my family living there, and I can't understand much apart from Jambo.
