I have verizon and I am not sure what the ISP info is. Any body possibly tell me?

The Verizon News Server's URL is news.verizon.net. It also requires
you to authenticate to it by providing your VZ username and password.

theres a little thing called Google, try it out some time;)

I'm just curious if there is any free newsgroups out there with decent content. Or are those all pay for, like GigaNews, etc?

Yah I kno that but I cant figure out what the username and password are. is it the username that you use to login to your router or is it something completely different?

it should be the same username and password you use for your email
VZ would have given you these when you signed up with them.
I not sure but its probable the same as your router username and password as well.
just try them out your not going to brake your newsreader if details are wrong
your just get a message that its unable to connect.

There are, but depends on what you call decent. Used to use the test server at news-service until it stopped at the end of March - upto 160 day retention and maxed out my 8Mb. You just won't get people telling you where they are. The freebin ones are okay for posts upto about a month.

Anybody have an opinion on virginmedia/ntls newsgroups?

Am about to try and set it up now and don't want to pay for one until i know i get on with newsgroups lol.

Its okay if you wanna get into newsgroup's and try it out. But you'll want more

You get a weeks retention on binaries.

your better off subscribing. try newsdemon. its only
