Any such thing as a touch-screen S60?

The speaker on my 6682 stopped working yesterday. Cingular's XBM won't help me because even though I got this one from XBM in October, I bought the original more than a year ago. Nokia's warranty service needs a receipt with this phone's ESN and the date I got it from XMB, but Cingular is unable to provide that to me.

So long story short I guess I should start shopping around for something new.

I like the idea of touchscreens but I don't know if I want to switch to a Windows phone because I have been using S60 phones since 2003 and I like them, I know them, and I have tons of apps for them.

I am also torn about whether I want a full QWERTY keyboard or not. I do a LOT of texting/emailing/note-taking so on one hand a full QWERTY would make perfect sense for me, but OTOH I do a lot of short simple quick SMS's (like "yes", "no", "ok") with my thumb while stopped at traffic lights.

Sorry for acting like a newbie here...I'm just frazzled from dealing with Cingular and Nokia all day today.

ok......touchscreen's suck IMO...I HATE using a stylus

HERE is a nokia.....it doesn't say anything about s60...but it says it is a smartphone......I'm sure that some one can respond to my response and shed some light....good luck

EDIT-----A quick google search revealed what I thought........it is UIQ

I don't like touchscreens, and most s60 users don't either (I think)

Using a stylus is cumbersome and using your finger smudges the screen.
And I don't know if it's me, but screen that are touch sensitive just don't seem to have the quality, especially in bright sunlight.

if you think you'd like a QWERTY, but also want T9, dude you need to get the E70. It's the best of both worlds, it's MUCH smaller than you think, and you can get the 850 version for under $400. It's a steal.

I haven't heard much about the E50. It didn't look like anything special or exciting to me so I sort of blew past it. But now that I look at it, I see I could use my the spare batteries I have for my 6682, so that's a small plus.

there are many threads about the E50, and there are many followers as well...

it is really a very nice small phone, everything about it is solid except maybe the rubberized power button... the keypad is great, the reception is superb and the menu speed is above average among S60... the price is very good as well, the camera less is just about U$205~218 an the one with camera is just about U$245~258

like i said, if you are looking for a quick buy on a solid S60 phone while waiting for the likes of N95 and E90, then E50 is a real bargain...

yip i wonder if the phone cover can support the bl-6c, i m thinking of getting the black one if its available...made in finland of cuz, sorta gave up on the n73 i suppose :P
