...you would publish it? Hi, I'm a writer. To this day, I only write as a hobby or a way to get my feelings out, and I would like to get feedback from writers/publishers. I'm currently working on an english novel, and I'm thinking about publishing it.
Answer this question if you're a publisher, add you email and I'll send you the draft so you can tell me if you would publish it.
But please, don't re post my story, I worked on it, I don't want it to get stolen :)

To contact a Publisher with a view to a manuscript being published, You need to make your manuscript Copyright before you submit it. This you do by copying the manuscript and dating it and sign it in front of a witness. To find a suitable Publisher, you need to go to a library and ask for "The Publishers Directory", In this Directory are listed all the Publishers world wide, and details the sort of material they are looking for, (Poetry, Science Fiction Etc) From this, you can select a publisher who may be interested in your story. To submit your story, it has to be A4 size, and in chapters. The story is faced with an A4 size sheet of paper with the story title in the middle, and in the right hand corner at the bottom, your name address etc, and in Brackets write (copy) Doing this means the publisher cannot "steal" your story. A lot of Publishers will ask you, as a first time author, to pay towards the cost of publishing the story if he thinks it may not sell very well. However if He thinks it is something of a best seller, he will not ask for a payment towards any publishing costs. if you submit a manuscript, then be prepared to wait for a reply as Publishers on average recieve over a 1,000 manuscripts a week from hopeful Authors. To E mail a publisher is a complete waste of time, You will not get a reply. best of Luck, but be prepared for a lot of disappointment in this line of work.

I agree with Lori, this is a poor idea. Most editers and publishers don't read ANY of the unsolicited manuscripts that get sent to their office, do you honestly think they are going to respond to something on Yahoo Answers?

If you want feedback on your writing, join a writers group. Go to a site like meetup.com and search for one in your area. You can also take a writing class at a local community college, that will not only help you get feedback but may provide you with a mentor as well.

Don't send your work to anyone on here, besides the possibility of it getting stolen, who know what sort of credentials anyone here has to critique your work. You're better off finding a local writing group or taking a class.

EDIT: DO NOT copyright your material before you submit it to an agent or publisher!! In addition to being unneccessary, this smacks of "I don't know how things work" which means if you send it an ethically challenged agent or publisher could screw you in the end. To good agents and publishers it makes you look unprofessional and it implies that you think they will steal your work. Which isn't going to incline them to work with you. If your work gets published the publisher will handle copyrighting it.
