Hi - I am a high school teacher currently (first year) who is interested in applying for Teach for America. Since it's kind of last minute, I only have about two weeks to write two one-page essays (Why I want to join TFA and a problem that I've overcome). The essays shouldn't be hard to write but I want to make mine stand out since I don't have a lot of the other previous leadership experience they are looking for.
So basically my question is two parts... Does anyone have any first hand experience with Teach for America, and what were the pros/cons? and also how can I make my essays stand out?
