any one with a backround in sports?

my name is john im a track runner i just started running this year never have before i ran a mile pr in 5:51 but i dont think my dad is proud that im not a baseball or football star should i change sports im 5'10 sophmore ive played baseball i wieght 148 but im not stocky i have long legs and arms i can bench 120 i dont lift wieghts much
