Any one have a little vib in rear brakes on a 2010?

I get the "shudder" at very slow speeds all the time, like when I'm almost stopped and using the rear brake only. I can't feel anything while I'm braking at higher speeds. Never did it before I changed the rear brake pads. I guess I got some bad pads. The rear brake seems to work fine except for that. I used OEM pads but I may have gotten a crappy set?

keep your responses coming in please guys.... so far this doesn't make sense at all being some do some don't and all so far at varying speeds.

Thanks again for your efforts!

I have a 2010 FLHTK and am totally ticked off with this rear brake shudder. The dealership either says they don't feel it, or it is normal. Both excuses are unacceptable. I previously owned an '09 Road King with ABS, no issues and another 2010 FLHTK again no issues. Then how can it be "normal" on this bike? I really notice it when I am slowing down below 30 mph right up and until the bike comes to a stop. It is only the rear brake and is very pronounced when I use the rear brake alone. I noticed this within 1 mile of leaving the dealership with this bike and yet nothing is being done. I now have about 1200 miles on the bike and the problem most certainly is NOT getting better. In addtion there is also a very pronounced "rubbing" noise that appears to be coming from the rear wheel. Again, the "techs" don't hear that either. It is very frustrating to buy a HD for over 25K and the thing brakes like crap. Hopefully enough people have this problem and force HD to fix it. I have considered filing a lemon law claim here in PA if it does not get fixed. As a matter of fact the first time I came to a stop with the gf on back she asked me what was wrong with the bike shakeing ! And yet the dealership doesn't think there is anything wrong. At least reading the posts here convinces me that it is indeed a problem and not a figment of my imagination.

Yes, I also have it on my new 2010 Limited (3000 miles) as well. Seem more related to engine/drive train movement then ABS but not sure. My shudder lessens after about 30 mins. of riding. Seem very pronounced when cold and just starting out in the AM.

Well based on the responses I reckon it's agreed there is a problem that, if it has been brought to dealer attention, is being ignored.

Where to from here? Should individuals put a formal complaint on record with HD? How is that done? Should we put it on record with them as a group?-- I dunno..

Aany concensus on the way forward would be of help. Ideas?

ETA: Oops... just saw where you live V2Evo96. This is a good link for us here though. NHTSA covers Harleys too.

No worries RangeRat-- we have a federal dept of transportation that handles matters such as this. I don't want to go there unless all other avenues are exhausted. In my case I believe the dealer has done everything it can within allowances provided by HD Australia so the next level for me is to HD Australia, then further (to our DOT if needed).

I'll post any findings and if others here do the same we can at least measure progress and share results.

Same thing on my 09. Dealer changed front motor mount which only seemed to lessen effect. I can even feel th epulsation at a stop. Depress the rear brake and the pulses are very noticeable, but not as pronounced as when braking at any speed 20 and up.
