I was wondering has antbody got any news of the new carry on movie, carry on london.
Or has it been shelved.
Remember reading in the papers a year or two ago that it was being made. But it seems to have vanished.
Thanks Steve.
Nobody could *ever* replace the comedic genius that was Sid James, Kenneth Williams etc.
I sincerely hope that they *do not* bring out a new version of something that stanRAB in the all time 'hall of fame' of 'seaside humour' that was 'carry on'.
The status here has been saying pre-production for nearly a year now.
Last I heard, Kirk from Corrie had pulled out to stay on in the show, but definitely heard that Danielle Westbrook was involved. There is also a rumour on the IMDb message board that David Jason may be involved.
I loved the original films but I'm not quite sure that a new film would work. I think that they will not be able to get away with such humour in today's politically correct society.
This excuse for a carry on film has just be released on dvd.I already have it on vhs.Which i then converted to dvd.
I have the complete set of all the originals on dvd.
I wouldn't hold your breath. I read somewhere last year that ir had been scrapped. Also this and this don't seem to give the impression anything's moving on the production front.
i wouldnt mind more carry on movies but i dont feel it would be the same witout sid james as he is known. i feel he was one of the best actors in the carry on movies.
My three most favourites are.
1)Dont lose your head, must have been one of the more expensive sets.
2)Up the khyber,Charles Hawtrey`s best, imo.
3)Camping,just a laugh from start to finish.
The problem these days is with the PC brigade being onto everything there would never be a carry on film as there used to be in the 60`s!!
i grew up watching these and have always loved them well apart from Emanuelle!! oooo that was a really bad one! i will say i did find Columbus funny well it was better than Emanuelle!!
I think they should let it go now!!
Henry, Cabby and Constable are my faves... which is wierd because I'm a devoted Angela Douglas fan - I'm amazed no-one's given her a really meaty drama series
