I am a mother of a 22 year old who is currently in the National Gaurd. He is serving a voluntary tour in Afganistan, at the Bagram air force base. I normally am pretty ok with this, his job is to clear land on base from mines, but the equipment he runs is enough to keep him safe even if he hits a mine(which he has).
Today someone told me they heard of bombings at American bases in Afganistan, but couldn't give me any other details, or know what radio station they were on.
He told me last time we spoke, on Thursday, that he'd be out of range for a few days, so no phone, email or Facebook contact. So part of me is thinking since I have not heard is fine, just like he said, out of range.
I am trying so hard to follow what I know works, Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. And for the most part, I'm ok. but it sure would be nice to be able to read a website with info, or any ideas anyone has to get me information. I plan on calling the National Gaurd armory in the morning but for tonight was hoping someone might have heard something? Please, no political commentaries are needed, whatever you think of us being there, try to keep to yourself. I'm just a mom who needs to know her son is ok, I dont want to debate with anyone. Thanks.
