Any new recent good horror film

The Orphanage is fantastic - not exactly recent (2007), but a real quality horror film which is a rare thing. It's best to know as little as possible about it before watching.

That is one disturbing film. I've never been able to look at hessian sacks quite the same.

Some of the best horror films I've watched have been Asian ones

Check out 'Eden Lake', ( not a conventional horror film but chillingly possible with an ending that stays with you.
The Strangers is watchable too.
Agree The Mist is a great movie.

The strangers is garbage, very little happens, it's about as disturbing as eating an orange..

I have to say that i really enjoyed "the mist" and the ending is immense.

Not seen the orphanage yet but it is definitely on the list of must see films.

As far as great horror films go there hasn't really been a true classic for years now, if i had to pick one i would say 1408 as i thought that was pretty good.

For true gore you need to see Murder Set Pieces..that will stick with you for life.

I saw that yesterday!
but cause peterborough cinema didnt have the right screen it wasnt in 3d!!!:(

But it was actually pretty good movie!!!
Would have been better in 3D tho!!!

House of Wax last night was watchable enough; much better than I expected anyway.I'd give it 5/10,and say it's one of the better (loose) remakes out there.
Surprised it got a 15 certificate over here; sure it was firmly a teen horror with the obligatory bad dialogue and dodgy acting, but it was a little bit too gory at times for a 15.Things really have changed at the BBFC in the last 10 years.

2007's 'Inside' was a true horror classic,IMO of course.

There's a film that opens on April 10th in the UK called Let the Right One In, it has a load of hype, it's supposedly amazing. Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle was glowing in his praise for it in an interview I saw with him.

There was a lot of positive feedback about a film called Paranormal Activity which was doing the rounRAB at the film festivals last year. It should be screening this year sometime. I've also heard that the above mentioned Let the Right One in is supposed to be very good too.

When horror is done well it reminRAB me why it's my favourite genre, despite all the crap out there.
