Any limitation on type of pc card used in Honda Civic?

My sister has a Honda Civic 2008. I have an 8GB SDHC memory card I want to play in it. I have a PCMCIA card but when I put the memory card in it and then place it in the PC Card slot of the navi, it does not play. I am thinking it might just be the PCMCIA card, but before I shell out another $50 I would like to know if anyone here knows about it. Will the Civic not play 8MB cards? Do I have to do something special to the card first?
