well i went to a walk in clinic last night with my hubby he had app any after his app i got talking with the dr we have seen him Alot of times over the years he is semi retired really nice well i told him about my back and my injury and i ended up showing these white sploshes that justrecently showed up on both my arms and these teny tiny red blood spots , he asked if i've had any rhumatoid testing done and i told him no he said if he were to see me he would do a series of blood tests because he really thinks i should be heald or healing from my back injury and there couls be something else going on that could be the underline prob of why i'm not getting better!honestly i thought i was having a slight reaction to all the steriod shot and epidurals they don't itch or any thing any thoughts guys

Repeated trigger point injections can cause local muscle damage and scarring, even if the injections contain saline solution rather than a steroid. This can lead to even more muscle dysfunction. Are you undergoing physical therapy or some kind of physial rehab in connection with the injections?

Your welcome. I have no clue but it sounRAB like the other doctor may have an idea of what is causing the problems since he ordered additional testing. It is amazing how you can be seeing multiple doctors and casually mention your case to someone else and they immediately have a suspicion of what is wrong. I just mentioned my case to a doctor in our church and he immediately said, have you done xyz and I said no. Now I am off to another specialist with hope that someone can help me. So by all means, go forward and try anything you can to get yourself fixed. The spots might be the answer to your problem who knows. Anyway, I will be praying in the meantime for you. Please keep us posted with what they find. I do care.

Hi Lady, I think I would do it. One never knows and there have been a couple of merabers who have found out that they had not only structural spinal problems but diseases that have added to their pain. I know one person had charlite malformation, lupus, rhumetoid arthritis, ms, etc.

Good luck and I pray your pain settles down soon.

Hello ladies ~

Pepper, I am so glad you questioned the nuraber of shots ladybuggy is receiving and has received in the past. I would really question the nuraber you are having. Cortisone also makes the tissue turn to mush if it is injected multiple times. And there is the possible danger of arachnoiditis as well...so please do your research, ask your docs and keep track of the nuraber of shots you are getting and when.

I'm sorry, ladybuggy, but I don't know all the particulars of your problems. I gather the shots are an attempt at pain relief:confused:?? If so, I would deal with it another way until you get to the bottom of your health issues. You really could be causing yourself even more problems by getting the injections.

I hope you get some answers soon.

i was they said they have done all they can for me and to keep trying to walk.. the water threapy at first ended up the lady kept wanting to adjust my tail bone by measureing how i stand that won't work i have a major disablity in my feet needing major recosruction so if you line my back and hips while i'm standing they will never look right so i only let my land pt adjust me he checks things out while i'm lying on the table and my sacrum almost always lines up with him ...anyway i made the water pt really made cause i just wanted to do some stretches and she wanted todo some majot adjustments i left there went straight to my land pt and he said i did not need any adjusting that it looked really good...so thats were it ended my land pt said just check in with him in 1 month after my 2 epidural...i know this sounRAB rediculous but i hope what ever this dr thinks i have causing the most of my pain can be reg with a silly little pill and maybe off all pain meRAB i know this prob. isn't the case but its giving me a reason to keep going today just a spark of hope even if its far fetched:)

Just a couple of ideas-you mentioned that you are noticing the whiskers on the chin...I have this too (as well as a few on the upper lip) and for me, it is my thyroid. Have they checked that in you? That will also cause a lot of chronic pain that you would not expect.

Also, if you like the idea of aquatics, but don't like the P/T, have you thought about finding either a pool that you can go on your own or a pool that has aqautic classes for those with arthritis, fibro., and other chronic pain issues? I took a couple of classes for people with arthritis and other chronic pain problems. Now I am signing up for a water walking class. These types of classes are set up for ea. person to do what they can and they are good at showing different people various ways of doing the same excercise, so that no matter what your level is, you can hopefully keep up with the others.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Ladybug, I am concerned about all these shots you are receiving. It seems like a large amount. Please remeraber that if you are receiving cortisone injections that you should only receive 3 in any given area - I would also watch the amount you are getting because it can start causing problems with diabeties and cause your pituatiary gland problems. I don't mean to scare you but it is something you should research for yourself.

If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious what type of doctor performed the trigger point injections.

thanks diet , it makes me feel like you guys care thank feeling alone aven though my hubby is supportive you guys have been here and know how vulnurable you feel and are ..diet i think this week iwell look up more info on the shots..i'm actually startting to have little wiskers on my chin i have to pluck every day i'm sure its from the shots...any ideas on the spots on my arms how that wouls coralate to my back?

lfoster21 ,
hi thats funny that you mention the thyroid hashimoto thyroiditis runs in the women in my family any way yes i know he is checking that i asked him if he would he said he was all ready checking that and my liver again and kidney funtioins and a whole lot more things he said if things come back how he is thinking i will need some more scans so i just wait.. i get my lab results on the computer so i like that then i can still research stuff while waitting :)
i like the aqutics idea i can go to threaputic pool to excersise or stretch i'm afraid of doing the exersizes wrong and injure my self more so i'll call around my dr might know of a good place to thanks!

You can do this on your own by researching on line aquatic therapy. They also sell a belt that you can put around your waist. With this belt, you stay afloat in the deep end and are able to do some exercises. You truly don't need a class. My aquatic belt came with a exercise book. I very simple moves.

I too have the Hashimoto's Thyroidism. This would be a good thing to look into. because my surgeon thinks that it is possible that my surgeries and some of my other conservative treatments, may not have worked because of the Auto-Immune issues. Something that is good to know, prior to having any new treatments.

Also, what Pepper said about doing the aquatics on your own, that is very true. You can also get the same work out by just going to the pool and walking/jogging across the pool. I never knew that people go to the pool, just to walk it, but they even have water walking classes now a days. Any way that you can get into the pool to do some moving around, would be a great way to built your core and leg muscles. Also, if you have county/state pools, they may offer fee waivers, if you make under a certain income. My pool offers 1 ree class every quarter, for disabled or low income people.

Best of luck,
Lorie:angel:
