Any ideas?

Over The Line!!

Hello,

Im a Swede and lucky to have social health care.. at the same time doctors dont take time to figure out whats wrong with you and if they cant immediately figure you out you get shuffled off the side or added to the "list of head cases" Ive been tested for Thyroid a few years ago after a round of sympotms that all got negitive test results and now i dont get anywhere with the docs.

Im reaching out here to see if anyone has a suggestion I can take to the health center.

For about 6 weeks ive been TIRED. I cant get enough sleep. I zone out in conversations. I have a 6 month old so just thought it was lack of sleep catching up with me but my partner is home with the baby now and ive had a chance to sleep and im only getting more tired. For the last 3 weeks ive had mounting pressure in the back of my head, pressure in my ears and jaw.. and starting last week dizzy spells that are becoming less spells and more constant. Last night I nearly blacked out sitting on the couch. I thought i was going to and fought it about 5 minutes and it eventually passed. Today im more dizzy then ever and the pressure is growing and spreading down into my shoulders. My head feels like it weighs 10 kg. I sleep deep, no sweats or chills or anything like that. Otherwise I feel well.

I keep catching myself staring at nothing with my mouth open.. glad i dont work where people see me constantly!

Ill add that during my pregnancy I had LOW blood pressure and during my C-section (son sat breach) I went really low and had to be given medicine to bring it back up. No bleeding.

Please, help!

Congratulations on your new baby! That is physically and emotionally tiring all on its own!
Two things crossed my mind. One is, have you been tested to see if you
have anemia? Lack of iron can cause many issues. Also, I'm wondering if you might have a sinus infection....

Doctors don't always order the right thyroid tests, or they might not know how to interpret them if they do. I wouldn't bet the boat that your thyroid is ok.

If your TSH is above 2 and your free T4/T3 are below median lab range, you're hypothyroid. If you have positive thyroid antibodies, you still may benefit from thyroid treatment even if the other levels are well within range. Visit the Thyroid Disorders Healthboard and start reading the "Thyroid Information" sticky thread to see if you have other symptoms related to the disorder. If you do, you'll have to convince a doctor to run new tests and treat if they seem at all suspicious.

Anjya: Besides the thyroid and anemia, get your blood sugars tested. See if you're diabetic. How old are you? You can become a type 1 diabetic up to 30 years old. You could also just be hypoglycemic. You don't have to be a diabetic to have low blood sugars. Some of this could be hormonal too. Post partum stuff. Don't give up looking for answers. Go with your gut feeling and know there's something not right. You live with your body, not the doctors.

Thank you everyone for the tips! Im going to check my blood sugars, my husband is diabetic so thats easily done! and I'm going to give the health center a call tomorrow and see if i can get in and set straight. Still dizzy and tired :P Ill let you all know what, if anything, they come up with.

If anyone else has any ideas I'd love to read them!

Thanks again!
Anjya
