Any ideas on why my 6 year outdoor light bulbs I put in back in August would have...

...already burned out? I leave them on at night, but turn them off every morning. I was told they should last 6 years and it has only been 4 months!
 
Truth in advertising is a myth. I found out the same thing with those wonderful green-friendly compact fluorescent bulbs that last 8 yrs-- I put them in in April and have had to replace about 6 of them so far.The lights are in my game room, which is actually lit about 4 hrs a week.
