Any ideas for good pre workout meals?

Our family does jujitsu twice a week and the workouts are at 8 p.m. and 5 p.m., both for at least an hour and a half. I try to do carbs with lean protein, which usually ends up being ground turkey or chicken breasts with whole wheat pasta and some veggies mixed in. We end up eating an hour to an hour and a half before we work out. Too much roughage and we end up with stomach aches and too much protein makes us feel like there's a lump in our stomachs. Any other good meal ideas?
