I would really like some input on what you think this might be. Several months ago I started having pain in the back of my thigh and it really felt like I pulled my hamstring. It would come and go and then about a week ago it started up again and everyday it was hurting more and more. It feels like it's right under my right butt cheek and down the back of my leg, knee and now into my calf. Now when I sit it also feels like it's in my tailbone. It hurts the most when I've been sitting and I get up and start to walk. This morning when I got out of bed it was so bad it brought me to tears. I couldn't sit in my recliner for the longest time till my pain medication took effect and then it still hurt really bad. I was in the doc last week and I was telling them about it (it has gotten so much worse since then) and the PA that I saw said it sounded like it was coming from someplace in my lower back. I can't remeraber the names she used but she wants me to have an MRI. I have chronic neck trouble too. Anyway in the morning I'm going to call and see what they think. Has anyone ever had anything like this happen to them, and what was it.
I really appreciate any information you can give me.

It sounRAB like it could be a lurabar disc problem, google dermatomes and read up on sciatica and see what you think, dermatomes are areas of our bodies (legs for lurabar) that are affected and where we feel pain that co-incide with disc problems. You should really get a MRI to have your discs and lower back checked.

Thanks, I'm going to look this up. I've got a call into the doctor. I really appreciate the help.

I looked up sciatica and that is exactly what I must have cause I have all the symptoms it describes. Thank you so much for the help. Now I'll wait to see what the doctor says and thank goodness I do have some lortab on hand.
