This crap is driving me crazy! The spyware program that I have hasn't even touched it! Help!

Agreed. Spybot Search and Destroy is very good. Keep updating it to keep on top of the crap people love to stash in your machine :)

In order for a computer to be protected it must have a few things. It must have an anti-virus
utiity, an anti-spyware utility, and a firewall. A popup stopper and an anti-spam utility are also
a good idea. Most of these are easily understood by their names. The firewall is a program that basically
monitors all traffic into and out of your computer. It's purpose is to stop any un authorized traffic.
THE BEST INTERNET SECURITY SUITE I HAVE FOUND (Firewall, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Virus,
Anti-Spam, Pop-Up Blocker, Mail Scanner, and Parental Control) is from Kapersky. They
have a Free Virus Scanner here. http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner They also have a
FREE 30day Full Version trial here. http://usa.kaspersky.com/trials/home-use...
Kapersky has been rated at the top ( #1 or #2 ) by the leading independant review and
certifying boards year after year. These certifying boards are not sponsored by any
AV companies ( like Norton or McAffee or Bit Defender, etc.) Their testing is actually scientific
and unbiased. I have tested and used many brands and this is the only one I use now.
If you Must use FREEWARE utilities. The best combination I have come up with is.
Comodo firewall, Spyware Terminator, and Avira Antivir, adding adaware2007 works great with this set-up.

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from http://www.download.com/ I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps

First off, you need real time protection activated in paid subscription antivirus and antispyware and a personal firewall..... Real time protection (heuristics) blocks installations.

INSTALL

Microsoft AntiSpyware is now Windows Defender
[working-freeware from Microsoft]
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
Windows Defender is a free program that helps protect your computer against pop-ups, slow performance, and security threats caused by spyware and other unwanted software. It features Real-Time Protection, a monitoring system that recommends actions against spyware when it's detected, and a new streamlined interface that minimizes interruptions and helps you stay productive.

Windows Defender is very good but the not the best rated in paid programs like Trend Micro Antispyware, Webroot Spysweeper, Counterspy. The most important things are that you need a personal firewall (NOT XP firewall) and real time protection shields that will block further communications and even more installations from what is sitting there right now. Back door threats with trojans and rootkits on the machine can continually install more and more and as well, you can get caught up into a malware botnet (google it) or slang - 'zombie networks'. So cut off severe threat communications and then clean the pc.

SUPERAntiSpyware [working-freeware, and premium version]
http://www.superantispyware.com/
SUPERAntiSpyware scans your computer for known Spyware, Adware, Malware, Trojans, Dialers, Worms, KeyLoggers, HiJackers and many other types of threats, and allows you to remove or quarantine them. It offers daily (manual) definition updates, as well as home page hijack protection and customizable scan options. Furthermore, the program includes a Repair feature that allows you to restore various settings which are often changed by malware programs, but usually not corrected by simply removing the parasite. The free version lacks real-time blocking and protection as well as several other advanced options.

a-squared trojan remover (Free Working Version for life and Proactive Premium Version)
http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/
a-squared (a-squared) is a complementary product to antivirus software and desktop firewalls on MS Windows computers. Antivirus software specializes in detecting classic viruses. Many available products have weaknesses in detecting other malicious software (Malware) like Trojans, Dialers, Worms and Spyware (Adware). a-squared fills the gap that malware writers exploit. Automatic updates: In a-squared Free the updater must be run manually. The auto-update feature of a-squared Personal checks hourly for new available updates and installs them automatically. a-squared Free is freeware!

Without paid subscription security software including a firewall, antivirus, and antispyware - you will never get out of a help group. The threats are more and more and more sophisticated. Of course the worm is about worst which can delete file after file and directory after directory and eventually the Windows OS itself.

PS.... Spybot Search And Destroy was a first attempt at antispyware years and years ago. It is what they call today "crapware" because in al independent lab tests it has continually rated as one of the worst on the world web. You are asking for free help and that's what you get at least 50 percent of the time - uninformed security solutions from uninformed consumers / pc users. These are newbies and even cyber criminlas offering piss-poor solutions to give you a false sense of security making you their mark. Watch out !
