2006 Malibu Maxx. 35,000 miles
We drove this car to town in the snow today. Came out of the store and car refused to start. Left it for 20 minutes and then it started.
- D.I.C> message read "engine reduced power" and the motor would not accelerate above 1000 RPM
- Engine temperature gauge would not register
- Coolant and A/C fans were both running. They normally never run in cold weather.
- Traction control defaulted to "OFF" and would not reset
- remote start won't work
- engine light on
We restarted the car again ( 3 tries) and the engine revved to 2000 RPM and took 40 seconds to return to idle.
We left the car at the dealer (closed Saturdays) and will have them look at it Monday.
Curious to know what the problem is, though. And GM experts want to take a stab at it?
With the exception of a wiper motor back in the Summer we have had no electrical problems with this car.
