Hi. I have a 05 Cadillac Escalade which has a squeaky belt. I had the belt replaced about 6 months ago, but it started again. it seems tight enough. One thing that makes the sound go away is pouring some water on it. That stops it for a few days.

Any idea what the problem is and how i can fix it?

Thanks

Its the belt tensioner, spray a little wd-40 in the belt tensioner bearing, if the squeak stops its the tensioner. Do this with engine off please!

Do you have any leaks? (antifreeze, power steering fluid, engine oil?) that may be contaminating the belt?
Did you buy a good quality replacement belt? Gates belts are the best. Or are you using the cheapy belts?

Have the idler pulleys checked. Maybe the problem isn't the belt at all but a bearing going in one of the idler pulleys. You lube it for a minute with water.

It seems tight enough because theres an automatic belt tensioner. Possible the tensioner is worn. Might even be this pulley/tensioner- needing the whole assembly replaced.
