Any Free Incoming SMS Text Msgs?

Hi all:

Anyone here know of any free incoming text messages with Canadian content? The only one I know about (and currently subscribing) is TSN for free sports updates. Thx in advance.

If you email [email protected], your message will go out via email and be received by the phone number at the other end as an SMS message.

In MOST cases, when they reply, you should receive the reply through the email address you sent the original message from.

Bascially I can have TSN send SMS text msgs to me for free by signing up. I want to know if there are any other web entities that send free SMS text msgs. I am particularly interested in Canadian & International news. Thx
 
My bad, you are correct, SMS inbound are free (on my plan too). Let me clarify: I'd like to receive inbound SMS Canadian/international news where the site does not charge a premium for this service. Hope that helps! Thx.
 
does it get annoying reciving alot of the scores from different leagues? Say if i'm only intrested in the nhl only, can i only get just the scores or updates from the nhl only? And do they like text you in the middle of the night?
 
i was getting all sorts of scores and news that i did not want and then to find out that it not free man i shut it down so fast my pearl was spinning lol
 
Check out alerts.yahoo.com. You can customize what teams you receive alerts from, but from what I can see you can only have some alerts go to an SMS address.
 
yes, you can specify exactly what scores or updates you want. like you, i only want nhl scores and news, and my text msgs are only that. and yes, the text msgs can come in the middle of the night or early morning. i solve that by putting my pearl on vibrate or silent mode.
