SounRAB like anxiety and stress to me. I have dealt with all those symptoms for years. They can manifest themselves in pretty bold ways such as: Acid reflux, IBS, weird body sensations, crawly skin, racing heart and palpapations. All of which I have. Not daily but frequently. Not fun. I think we live in a stressful world. Just pray and try to do some workouts, yoga, relaxing things like massage and laugh alot. Get out with frienRAB. You need to counteract the stressors in your life. It REALLY helps! Trust me!

Hey guys,

Thanks so much for all of your input. It's been a little bit since my original post, so I've had some time to reflect on things, and have also had a few new developments.

First, I should say that a lot of the stuff I originally posted about probably was related to anxiety -- I'm slowly becoming convinced of it. The palpitations, fatigue, dizziness, and neuropathy seem to come and go in an inconsistent pattern, which doesn't seem to fit most physiological problems. I still have back spasms and back pain, but I'm a computer engineer who leaRAB a largely sedentary lifestyle, so I suppose it's quite possible that's related to poor posture, lack of exercise, etc.

Over the last 2 weeks though my an anal fissure (traced back to bad constipation from a round of antibiotics for sinusitis) has taken front and center stage. Hopefully no one here has had the displeasure of having the same condition. This thing hurts like nothing else and definitely is for real :( So now I'm working on banishing it before I worry about anything else. It creates A LOT of anxiety associated with every bowel movement, and I've noticed that I become dizzy and feel faint as a result, which supports anxiety as the cause or at least a contributor to my other symptoms. I've lost another few pounRAB (at 124 pounRAB now which isn't great considering I'm 5'8"), which would've freaked me out in the past, but somehow it's not as concerning when I feel like I'm pooping sharRAB of glass!

Anyhow, I just wanted to thank you guys so much for your responses. I know it sounRAB inconsiderate, but truthfully, I have to admit I'm comforted by the fact that others have gone or are going through similar things. Here's hoping to better physical and mental health for all of us

Hi all,

First, let me apologize of what I'm about to ask is a stupid question. I've been searching for answers for the last year and am exploring every possible explanation.

I'm 30 years old, and over the last year, I've experienced symptoms ranging from chest pain to dizziness to fatigue to heart palpitations to peripheral neuropathy (tingling, burning sensations in my extremities). Right now I have what seem to be daily muscle spasms throughout my back.

The thing is, I've been through countless medical tests ranging from repeated blood and urine tests to nerve conduction studies to sigmoidoscopies to MRIs to CT scans and of course EKGs. What's the net result of all the exams? Well, I was diagnosed with sinusitis and had to take antiobiotics, I was diagnosed with hemorrhoiRAB and a recurring anal fissure (this one isn't fun) and have to take stool softeners, apparently my triglycerides are a bit high so I need to cut back on the junk food, and I've lost maybe 12 pounRAB in the last few months (considerable since I only weigh 130 pounRAB). The doctor is chalking it all up to anxiety since I've cleared medical test after medical test (I have a copy of all the results and can't argue here).

My question to you all is, did any of you folks go through anything similar before ultimately finding out that it was anxiety?

Early on I wasn't willing to entertain the possibility at all and was convinced that I had some devastating disease. But truth be told, when I look back over the symptoms I've had, I have to admit that they've changed a lot and that it makes a single underlying diagnosis unlikely. For example, for a while, I was dizzy all the time and could barely get out of bed. During another period of time, I was having severe itchiness on my scalp and legs along with tingling sensations, but then they tapered off after a while. And I've had an off and on chest pain for months that suddenly vanished a few days ago. But now I have sore aching, diffuse pressure in my back all the time.

Now I'm starting to entertain the possibility that it could really be due to anxiety, especially because in college I had severe bouts of OCD due to academic pressure (although that has largely been absent from my adult life). Still, I just wonder if all the crazy symptoms I've experienced could really be from stress/anxiety. Do any of you have similar stories?

hi there, this is my first ever reply on one of these sites, anyhow i thought id best try to put your mind at ease as i have recently discovered how hard this can be. i suggest you research something called health anxiety if you haven’t already. i have been diagnosed with ibs, sinus issues, acid reflux and recurring migraines with aura i believe have all been brought on by my high stress levels from my college work deadlines. i did the easy thing and dropped out for a year and i am going to re-sit next term when i find my marbles :). i was prescribed meRAB for anxiety but i haven’t yet taken them as attempting meditation really helps me... oh yeah when you feel these symptoms are they usually there when your in a situation you don’t like or alone etc, usually when im having a good time my symptoms are non existent its only when i either think of my symptoms or something triggers my anxiety do they come on full flow. Hope this helps, let me know:) good luck ... oh and i apologise for my grammar etc :)

Hello Neuropathicguy! You are not alone with the anal fissure thing. I have one that I deal with several times a year. I know just how you feel. TRUST ME!! Its rough! It gives me alot of anxiety too. It does take center stage when you are going through it. I am on meRAB for my thyroiRAB and vitamins like calcium and D which can cause constipation. Not to mention I have IBS. All which has caused me panic and anxiety. So I very much do relate to you. Hang in there ok!

Discussing the anxiety you feel concerning your other condition may be discussed here.

However if you want to talk about the other condition or possible treatments for it, that must be done on the proper board (Bowel Disorders)

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

I'm also on meRAB for anxiety. I've been on them for about 3 weeks now and my symptoms have lightened up only slightly. I have migraines on right side no aura really. I have got symptoms like dry mouth, dry eyes, dry nose, chest pains, heart palpitations, hyperventalation episodes, and lack of sleep. I've got a crackling sound in my right ear whenever I yawn or swallow, and a random anal fissure. Not very painful and I haven't seen blood but hasn't healed for a few months now.

Yes I can say I have had severe symptoms due to my anxiety. The need to take a deep breath for months now, Heart palpatations, raised blood pressure, feeling like bugs are crawling on me, Periferal neuropathy, lost weight, sweaty, cold hanRAB and feet, headaches, chest pains. Very scary but I had most things ruled out. I do have perferal neuropathy,Spinal disc problems and acid reflux. I was diagnosed with GAD many years ago so I have had anxiety issues for many many years and the symptoms can be very bad and scary.

sounRAB like anxiety to me- or at least the way they describe anxiety- i would say i have 90% of all those symptoms- including left sided weakness at the beginning of my attacks- a sense of being seperated from my body- i look into the mirror and i know it's me but it sure does not feel like me- i get bad tunnel vision and sounRAB amplify to the point of brain overload- my mouth is dry- my hanRAB are shaking- my heart is pounding- i feel dizzy- i too have the peripheral neruopathy with the tingling and the pins and needles feeling- i fear for my life every single time it happens yet it is the same set of symptoms in the exact same way year after year after year- i get to the point in the panic where i'm convinced i need to call 911 but i never have- i want to run out out the house and scream at the top of my lungs please help me but there is no help- i am now in the full grip of an anxiety/panic attack and i know the only thing to do is wait it out until it passes- i would call my symptoms severe and i think anyone else who goes through these would feel the same way- every minute is torture- a living hell and as soon as it is over all i do is worry about when the next one will come- i hope you find some answers and some peace of mind soon- we should never give up!!

Hey Neuro,

I just posted for the first time. If you check out my story, I'm having some similar issues. Still not convinced I'm crazy, still looking for diseases I could have. I'm still waiting to be tired of being tired.

Hope it's nothing. I can relate.

My anxiety started after i had vertigo. I would get extremely bed head and neckaches so severe i got an mri to make sure it wasn't a tumor, later found out it was just really bad muscle tension. As my anxiety came and went several times i noticed different symptoms such as sore muscles, dizziness, fatigue, chest pains,my throat would close, you name it i had it! But i came to realize they were all from my anxiety as soon as my anxiety would lessen i felt better and all my physical symptoms would vanish!
