Just asking...

I am 35 and currently in full time employment. I have decided to go back to college starting next month, there will be 8 hours of college tuition and I need to do aprox 16 hours home study, so will be studying on average 24 hours per week.

I have given this really serious thought, and I am considering leaving my full time job, I just dont think I can cope working a 50 hour week and studying 24 hours and trying to live at the same time.

If i did leave my job, or wanted to work part time, am I likely to be able to get any financial assistance? The course runs for 9 months, at which point I would be qualified and could return to work.

Any ideas?

If the program is only for nine months, I would continue working and attend classes. You can fill out the fafsa to see if you would qualify, but it would depend on your tax information from the prior year and your assets (it won't matter if you quit your job to go back to school if you worked full-time the previous year). I'm a single mom and I work full-time and attend classes full-time. I've been doing this for almost three years now, and still have at least a full year - 18 months of this hectic lifestyle. It will keep you busy, and you'll be exhausted, but it's definitely doable.
