Hi. I'm in around year seven and I have to write a poem about an animal of my choice, but from the African Serengeti. So, here it is. Any feedback? Thanks I'd realy appreciate it. Here goes:
Poem about Elephants
Along the Serengeti
While the sizzling day overpowered
An enormous smoky beast
Trumpeted and showered
Along came a lion
So brave and bold was he
While distant smoky beast
Was showering near a tree
The water glistened brightly
Yet my eyes were stuck to his glare
That bold, brave frightening lion
Growled fiercely in the air
The giant smoky beast
Who came quite near and close
Stood amid my life and death
Nervousness arose
He stomped and bellowed and swayed
The lion growled again
Then leaped out into the Serengeti
Gentler than most men
He did one more trumpet sound
My ears were hurting for a while
But I was safe from the lion
He turned and made a smile
Before my eyes a monster
Which I cannot pretend
That smoky silver beast
Was but a helping friend
