I know I personally would like to see separate forums for techniques vs. equipment. Campers, as well as hunters, come in every variety from extreme minimalists who want to walk into the wilderness with nothing but the clothes on their back to extreme technophiles who have more fun buying the latest gadget for their motor home than actually being outdoors. (I make no judgment about which is "real" camping/hunting; it's supposed to be recreation, so do what's fun for you.) A few people may be smack in the middle, but most people lean to one side or the other, and it gets frustrating to scroll through thread after thread of stuff in which you have no interest.
For example, here on Yahoo Answers, the "Hunting" Forum is practically overwhelmened with questions about guns. That's an equipment question. I'm one of those people who wants to stay relatively minimal on my equipment and learn more about hunting techniques. I'd love to have a separate forum for that. Same way with camping. I want to look in a different forum to learn, for example, how to build a campfire that will make the most of a small amount of fuel, than to learn about different models of propane stoves.
