Any cartoons you want on DVD that aren't?

Rugrats

This show used to be as big as Spongebob. I WANT IT ON DVD! NOW!

Dexter's Laboratory

Now that The Powerpuff Girls is being released, the future may not be so bleak for this show.

 - I would like to have Static Shock on DVD. I don't know why the WB released a DVD with a few episodes and not the entire 3 seasons (I think).

But they didn't air on Disney Channel exclusively. Both of those shows initially aired in syndication as well. DuckTales began in weekday afternoon syndication in 1987, Darkwing Duck in 1991, where it ran on the syndicated Disney Afternoon until 1995. DD also ran on ABC Saturday mornings from 1991 to 1993.

I doubt that'll happen anytime soon if that's the case. Several people I know, and myself, are boycotting the release, simply because despite the title, it's nothing more than the exact same last release with three cartoons tacked on. And they're not even full episodes, they're just the 10 minute adventures, and not even the GOOD 10 minute episodes. Target's already marking it down from what I've seen.

I'd love to see Pac-Man and Mr. T TAS get a release. Actually, there are quite a few 80's cartoons that need a decent release, including Pound Puppies and 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo.

Ones I'd like to have (off the top of my head) Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, ExoSquad, X-Men, Bionic Six, M.A.S.K., and The New Adventures of Speed Racer . . . well, I liked it. :)

It probably will be in about a year, just like Get Smart, but will possibly lack all of the bonus features, just like Get Smart. :(

More King Of The Hill, for sure.

Unfortunately, the sales weren't too good on these. Kind of annoying because season 7 has a few of my all time favorite episodes.

ExoSquad.... loved this as a kid. I'd buy this in a heart beat.
Daria(uncut)... somehow I don't see MTV selling out all that money to all the artists who songs were used during all five of it's seasons. :(
X-Men
Clue Club... Woofer and Wimper were the best.

Muppet Babies - Yes, it has a lot of footage that could cause a problem, but I still hope they'll release it someday and make me a happy fan :)

Beetlejuice - Honestly surprised it hasn't been yet!

Daria - Same as Muppet Babies

Rainbow Brite - I believe it was released in Australia, but not in the US. Why not is anyone's guess.

This has made me wondered if only past shows (i.e.: Quantum Leap) only have this treatment of music removals on DVD releases, and not current shows (The Hills, which like Daria and other MTV reality shows, uses extensive music in each episode)...

Anyways, going back on topic:
  • The Jetsons (1984-1987)
  • The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo
  • Bonkers (with Miranda Wright; sorry Lucky fans, but I just HAVE to go with the blondeshell here!;) )
  • The WHOLE Inspector Gadget series
  • The Alvin Show (1961-1962; I'm totally surprised no one has virtually mentioned this yet! )
  • The whole Static Shock series

I doubt that.

Ducktales aired in syndication from 1987 until at least 1998. Darkwing Duck ran in syndication from 1991 until 1997 I believe. It's hard to believe there wasn't a time when these two shows weren't airing on some station in your area.

Mind if I ask your age range? That might help.

I'm 21. I think there's always the possibility that I just never noticed it because my cousins didn't watch it, and they were almost totally influential on what I watched.

Yeah, back in the day, when maybe 10 episodes would be released on VHS, it wasn't a big deal to re-license music for home video. and these days, DVD release tends to be in the initial contracts to put the music in a show. But for shows from the VHS days, they have to relicense EVERY song. Heck, for Married with Children, they eventually just gave up licensing 'Love and Marriage', replacing it with a sound alike.

Spider-Man: TAS
If only we knew what company really owned the rights to this series.

Earthworm Jim
I haven't seen it since it last aired on Kids'WB, why hasn't this been done yet?

Transformers: Robots In Disguise
The show wasn't great, but I'd buy it to see it again. I'm surprised Disney didn't release DVDs to coin side with the movie. Hopefully they'll do it with Revenge of The Fallen.
