Any Buspar stories?

Anyone have any luck with Buspar (or the generic) or their anxiety? I like the idea of taking a daily anti-anxiety med that is not a SSRI.

Or actually any stories positive or negative for Buspar?
 
Greetings.. I have had luck with Buspar (15 mg -Twice daily). It is not perfect, but does not have the addiction/dependence potential of the benzos (Xanax,Ativan, etc). I have noticed no troublesome side effects with buspar. Greg
 
thanks for your reply. Do you take it by itself or as part of a cocktail? Do you still occassionally take a benzo too?
 
I take it as well as Wellbutrin XL 300mg (an anitdepressant that usually increases anxiety as it does in me), as I suffer from depression as well. I do not now, and have never taken a benzo. Greg
 
Have had good luck with buspar. This is after trying a few antidepressants. Started on 15mg twice a day and then had to increase after 2 years. It does seem to become less effective over time. I took it alone for a couple of years and then started to take a .25 xanax on certain occasions. In my case mostly hormonal. It has worked wonders for my anxiety with little side effects. My doc told me that it is also a pretty clean drug which means it will be gentle on the liver. Hope this helps. Godbless:angel:
