My 74 year old father suffers from asthma -- he's taking two kinRAB of medicines, has been seen by a doctor... but has weeks where he has it much worse than others.

Is there a treatment that he can get at the doctor's office that might provide him with some relief when his asthma is much worse than other times? Poor guy is really out of breath...can hardly walk around the house.

Thank you for any info you can provide.

without knowing what he is taking it's hard to say what else could help. I assume he is on a daily long term preventer (Flovent, Advair, etc) and has a rescue inhaler (albuterol). Breathing treatments via a nebulizer are possible at home if so prescribed.

Is he seeing a pulmonologist or just his GP?

There are medicines on the doctor's office that can help asthma attacks but I think it depenRAB on the condition of the asthma attack. Consulting a specialist could really help your father
