Any apps to send FAX direct from phone?

Hey all,

I was just searching for an app for my N80 that would let me send a FAX (either text, or DOC, or PDF) directly from my phone, without needing a PC. Couldn't find anything that didn't involve some internet service.

This SEEMS like a simple thing, but maybe there's not a lot of demand. Any clues?

I have scanR on my phone, it doesnt really post the image that clear though. It suggest that you use macro when scanning/taking a picture of the documents but its still really blurry. I also wish they'd add the a feature where you can send document files thats in the phone as a fax instead of just images/photos.
 
yeah ScanR's going to be your best bet. I've used it for contracts at work that required a signature and it went through ok.
 
Thanks for the input. I was hoping to find a server-less solution, where the mobile actually dialed direct to the target fax machine, but maybe it doesn't exist.

I will check out ScanR!

ScanR is pretty cool for kicks but not practical for work......which is pretty much the sole reason for wanting to scan something. Go figure......
 
Dang... I too was hoping to find a program that could send faxes directly from my s60 phone (E61) but I guess no such thing exists to date. I will check out this ScanR thing as well, but it doesn't sound like it's up to par with regard to sending documents as business faxes.
 
Isnt that the truth. I always got a complaint that it wasnt readable so I just gave up on it......of course I WAS taking the pictures with my E61 so who knows?
 
friedbrains, what S60 phone do you have?

I assume any service provider will let you call a fax machine, since it's just a normal phone call. The trick is getting the phone to talk to the receiving machine.
 
^ nope, not like that all... my service provider will accept my txt messages and will send the text messages to a fax machine... it will take any phone...

I just received a secret survey from scanR and it was mainly asking how much Im willing to pay for the service they provide. Usually I buy my apps so Im not being cheap here and answered most no, not willing to pay. The photo to pdf doc isnt even legible.
