My wife was driveing it and she thought she had a flat and it wasn't the motor is shaking thought it was a motor mount but it's not that either. any one know what it might be. the check engine light has been on but it started flashing when this problem happened.

If the motor mounts arent bad you have major issues inside the motor. Motor mounts have a bushing that you would pretty much have to pull the motor to examine if the actual mount isnt broken.

Pull the check engine codes. I guess shaking might be a relative term, and whatever its throwing the code for might fix it.

You may also want to check for any vacuum leaks. these can also cause engine to shake.

it could be a spark plug mis fire, that happened to my car it would shake because one of the spark plugs wasnt working properly or it could also be one of the tires that has a bump on it but they are very hard to spot.

auto zone will check the codes for you free. did you check the transmission mounts too?

2001 intrepids and gm cars with 3.4 l in them have issues with the mass air flow sensor going out on them try cleaning it as a quick fix the maf will run you about 120 bucks at auto zone with a 40 refundable core charge but i am banking on it being the mass air flow. if you have any other questions dont hesitate to email me.

Take the car to an Auto Zone and they can scan the light for free and give advice on how to proceed.
