right basically a fortnight ago on thursday (12 days ago) i got home from work and felt sick. shortly after a sharp pain came on in the left of my stomach, this proggresively got worse and then was accompanied with a dull ache so that now i am in constant pain of dull ache with attacks of sharp pains! i have been going to the toilet regularaly and there is no signs of blood in my urine. there was a high level of glucose so i was tested for diabeties and my blood sugar level was normal! i was given meberevin to take and now the pain has got so bad i am living off pain killers i cant sit down, lie down or even stand without the pain!

i am hoping that someone may be able to give me any advice as the 2 GP's i have seen in this time have told me its basically constipation, i am not in the position to say they are wrong but i would just like other opinions!

thanks

Sounds like a it might be a kidney stone. Any lower pain back along with the front pain? The pain comes on suddenly when it's moving and the pain can also stop suddenly if it is passed. You could have passed it without knowing. Good luck Linda

yes i have been going regularly but... all of a sudden on saturday the pain has stopped and it feels fine again, it wasnt after going to toilet or anything to do with constipation and now i am baffled any advice on this please?

yes i had severe back pain also, which spread up the my spine. but now all the pain has gone and it is just one hell of a relief. thanks for all the help and advice you all have given me.

BM = bowel movement

Have you had a colonoscopy? Let me be the first to say Irritable Bowel Syndrome can put you in tears. I however get that way before a BM.

It can make your sides hurt, even your upper middle abdomen.

A kidney stone is a type of problem that the pain will come and go as it moves through your urinary tract. If it's a small stone, you likely will not even see blood in your urine, and a urinalysis may just show a trace of blood if that, and so doctors think it's unlikely a stone, that doesn't mean jack crap.

When the stones actually is at the point, it's passing out of you, you will more likely see blood, but even stones small enough, it may not be apparent (visible).

However, I would be more than willing to bet my life, that if it is a stone, you are going to be feeling some form of irritation to your urinary tract, whether it be peeing a bit more than usual, or burning, pressure causing urgency to void.

If it's a stone, the pain will be back.

The basic thing nobody asks is why do people take drugs of any sort? Why do we have these accessories to normal living to live? I mean, is there something wrong with society that's making us so pressurized, that we cannot live without guarding ourselves against it?
