Anxiety & weight loss

I hear ya! I tried drinking ensure but that made me feel even more sick. I think it may have been the dairy. I really do have to find out if dairy is the culprit in my nausea and weight loss. But I know the anxiety makes my weight shift too. I just want to look like a healthy woman. I look way too skinny. It bothers me that so many people in our society want to be stick figure thin, and I absolutely hate it. I want to look like a real woman!

I have done the same, eating burgers and fries, junk food thinking that will magically make me gain some weight. My stomach tolerates it for a while, but not for too long.

I had also stopped working out for the same reasons so I'm sure I've lost muscle mass along with the weight. I just need to not allow myself to get scared by it! Its very frustrating and so easily feeRAB my anxieties about health. Again, it always helps to know that other people share such similar experiences!!!

Hi Ariel73 and welcome to the group. I started 2 months ago on some meRAB. It has taken awhile but I feel more calm. Still waiting to put on some weight. I'm down to 102. However, I have a thyroid problem and its going to take more time to get that right.
Most people have the opposite problem. Diet aRAB and weight loss programs are everywhere as you know.
If you don't have a sugar problem how about trying "Boost". I love the chocolate high protien. Even one a day can help from loosing more. If I go under 100 pounRAB I don't know what I'll do.

I am 25 years old and I noticed that I have lost quite a bit of weight. It started after my first panic attack in October. When I went to the doctor I noticed I went down from 118 to 110. Then the next appointment I went down from 110 to 106. Now I think I weigh even less. I have been given lexapro and I have been on it for 3 weeks but I am still losing weight. I dont think its related to the lexapro. I am getting my thyroid checked (full thyroid testing) to see whether or not its that to rule it out if it isnt. I am 5'4''. My average body weight should be 124. I am definetely not close to that. That worries me because I eat normally but my appetite is gone. It really stinks.I just want to look like a non-boney person again. I like some meat on my bones!

I just read all of the posts under this thread, and I say ditto to them all pretty much. When I go through an anxious period, I lose a few pounRAB every time. I think my metabolism is higher when I am anxious, and my stomach gets upset, so even if I try to eat more, I can't keep it in me (I use the restroom a lot). Once I feel better and the anxiety is gone, I can usually gain a few pounRAB back, but it takes a while. Right now I am 5'6" and weigh 113. My doctor would like for me to gain more weight (at least 7 pounRAB).

I as many of you lose weight when I'm having an a stressful time. But this time since the first of August I've lost over 20lbs. The doctors are now looking into Hyperthroyidism, which there is indicators that I do have, but they are not sure why, so more test are being run. I am 5' 8" and now weigh 119 lbs. Went from a size 8 to a size 2. I too just want to feel normal again, and put some weight back on. My doctor currently has me on Zoloft and Ativan, which helps with anxiety, but now the Thyroid doc wants to put me on a beta-blocker, which I'm not thrilled about taking all these meRAB. I honestly feel like stopping all the meRAB and take up some form of relaxing yoga and get my life back naturally. Has anyone out there gone about it this way with success?

Thanks Michelle

I tried twice. Almost threw out all the meRAB. Wow did I get myself into trouble. Now I keep a medical journal. Just a small one to got down notes. It reminRAB me hw much better I am.
- Boost high protien is wheat and dairy free. I love the chocolate! Let you know if its doing any good. I'll be happy to not loose anymore wieght.

I am going through this right now. I have terrible health anxiety and lately it's been worse. I am really slim - naturally 5'2" and 105 lbs but I've lost a few lbs recently. I won't weigh myself but I can feel that my pants are looser on me. Well I made a chart of everything I ate in the past few days and one day consisted of a only a few cookies and 8 mozzarella sticks. The other days were similar. So of course I am going to lose weight, but I still think I have some underlying disorder. I just increased my meRAB so I hope I feel better soon. I know how you feel though.

I saw your post & it reminded me of me. I too am 5'8 weight 145 for yrs & then something happened got very sick for over a yr & went down to 120. People would be shocked when they saw me. I've been slowly working it up to 130 but if I get a bout of Diarreah it falls off again. 1st let me tell you it seems NOW after all this time another Dr found out I have a thyroid problem. I bet that caused alot of my problems. I alwways had problems getting to sleep can't shut my mind off, thyroid can cause that too. I'm thinking of trying the Remeron heard it's good & puts weight on. Do you take the generic or the brand name, I have heard the generic isn't as good. Does it work good, how much & does it make you tired next day? I'm sorry for all the ques but I get such good help from this board. Thanks alot.
