Do any of you out there have anxiety that comes in cycles? I will be fine for weeks, feel great and then boom, its back and lasts for months?
I have suffered from anxiety for 20 yrs and it left me once for many years, just a few attacks here and there. Then I had surgery in 2005 and it came back with a vengence. It left and came back and still does this.
I feel so stressed and just weird. I feel that I am spaced out and just not with it. I can't remeraber anymore, I just feel so out of focus.
I feel like a curtain over my brain.
I am so afraid of medications. I have read so much about them and I am just scared to death. I took one Cyrabalta a few months ago and was convinced I was dying from it and did not take anymore.
I just don't know why it comes and goes. Its making me so depressed and I dread dread dread the mornings.

Hi there,

My anxiety runs in cycles depending on stress mostly. Work stress, worries about someone's health, the economy, etc etc. Sometimes one thing will set it off and even when the situation is over, the anxiety will continue. Then I'll have a spell of things going pretty well until the next event that fires me up. I'm not afraid of taking medication. I'm on some anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meRAB and know that without them, I would not be able to deal with life - at least this stage of my life.

I also tried Cyrabalta and could not tolerate it, but have done well with Zoloft and prior to that, Paxil. Most ARAB' have some side affects when starting them. I guess you just have to decide what is worse, the anxiety and the affect it has on your health and daily life or trying another medication.

Best wishes,

JB
