I presume this is quite a common thing with anxiety related ilnesses. I have been suffering anxiety now for more than 5 years. I am lot better now than when it first took hold and can do most things including holding down a professional job.

I want to know if anyone else feels anxious about having panic attacks in places like work or supermarkets etc? When I am waking about the site in work I quite often get mildy anxious and jumpy in case someone walks round the corner. Ny fear is that I will have a small panicky reaction and people will think I am strange. Does anyone else suffer from this or something similar? Have they been able to ease this or find a good way to distract this train of thought:confused:

I get anxious about having a panic attack in a large crowded place, so I know how you feel. I take Xanax as needed to control my symptoms and they work like a charm. Another little thing I do and a story my therapist told me to do. She said she had a patient that took Xanax for panic attacks and slowly weened himself off of them, but always carried a few in a small pill container in his front pocket just in case. She stated just knowing that was in his front pocket gave him the security that he needed and he did not have another panic attack and did not take any more of those meRAB for two years. So that is what I do now. I carry a few with me and the security of those being around makes me feel that much better, and it works. Don't have anymore anxiety.

That's just my story!
